Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CarCatch app and related services ("CarCatch"). By using CarCatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CarCatch. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Your account
You sign in with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Keep your device and credentials secure, and let us know if you suspect unauthorized use.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and other content you create. By posting content, you grant CarCatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display, and distribute it within the app for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.
You represent that you have the right to post your content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. Do not post photos that reveal someone's private information, and respect people's privacy when you shoot. We blur visible license plates, but you remain responsible for what you capture.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use CarCatch to harass, threaten, or harm others;
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, infringing, or reveals others' personal data;
- Cheat, manipulate scoring or quotas, or submit fake or misattributed spots;
- Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the service or its security;
- Resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Purchases
CarCatch offers optional in-app purchases, such as photo packs. Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account and are subject to Apple's terms. Photo packs are consumable and are delivered as a pool of captures usable within a stated window; they are not transferable and have no cash value. All sales are final except where required by law or Apple's policies — refund requests are handled by Apple. If we offer auto-renewing subscriptions, they renew through your App Store account until you cancel in your device settings.
Vehicle identification
CarCatch identifies vehicles using automated AI, which can be wrong. Identifications, rarity, and stats are provided for entertainment and informational purposes only. Do not rely on them for any purchase, valuation, safety, or legal decision.
Intellectual property
CarCatch, its name, logo, software, and design are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.
Disclaimers
CarCatch is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that identifications will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarCatch and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using CarCatch and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which CarCatch operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless a different forum is required by applicable law.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the effective date above. Continued use of CarCatch after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
